If you are working on Piwik at your job, you can sign this simple agreement with your company, to ensure your contributions will be under a compatible license, and can be used in Piwik.
This agreement is strictly between a developer and a client/employer, and is intended to protect the developer contributing code to the project. Since the Piwik project doesn’t require contributors to assign copyright, you don’t have to send us copies of this agreement.
Work Product Release Form [FINAL, version 2010-09-05] Goal ---- Piwik Project ("Piwik") contributors who have employment agreements, work-for-hire contracts, or other agreements that govern their work products, should have their employer agree to this Work Product Release Form ("Release Form") to ensure that a Contribution to Piwik has the employer's consent to license the Contribution under the GPL or compatible license. Non-Goals --------- The Release Form is *not* a copyright assignment agreement. The Release Form does *not* alter the licensing terms of third-party Code or Content. Terms ----- 0. Definitions. "Code" means (i) software code, (ii) any other functional material whose principal purpose is to control or facilitate the building of packages, such as an RPM spec file, (iii) font files, and (iv) other kinds of copyrightable material that the Piwik Project Team has classified as "code" rather than "content". "Content" means any copyrightable material that is not Code, such as, without limitation, (i) non-functional data sets, (ii) documentation, (iii) wiki edits, (iv) music files, (v) graphic image files, (vi) help files, and (vii) other kinds of copyrightable material that the Piwik Project Team has classified as "content" rather than "code". "Contribution" means a Work that You (or someone in your employ) created. A Contribution consists either of Code or of Content. If Your Contribution is Licensed, Your Contribution will be governed by the terms under which it has been licensed. 2. Copyright Permission Required for All Contributions. You consent to license an Unlicensed Contribution under the terms of the GPL, and to place the license notice on the Contribution. You understand and agree that You will not receive any notice, payment, or royalty as a result of the release or redistribution of the materials. Piwik is not obligated to accept any Contribution. 3.
