Piwik 1.4
Piwik 1.4 is a major upgrade, bringing a few new features:
- Experimental IPv6 support,
- HTML Email & Downloadable Reports (as well as PDF reports),
- better Campaign Tracking functionnality & URL Builder for easy Campaign tracking URL generation
- and a few bug fixes, including: Email reports now work when you don’t use cron, and more efficient Database purge of outdated reports
It contains many database schema changes so please be careful when running the Update script.
On large Piwik setups, make sure to run the Update Script from the Shell!
After You Update
- If you are using cron-based archiving, make sure the archive.sh script has execute (x) permission set for the cron user.
- Please use the forums for support.

hey , i had ver 1.3 but 1.4 upgrade didn’t find the table piwik_logger_api_call .. it wanted to alter it … what gives ?

We got the error too, and the patch was not working. For the right way we made a reinstall just with the new version and everything works fine!

Please add a hint for users with cron based archiving on windows machines: after the update you have to change the location of the “archive.windows.ps1″ file, if it is different from the default value!

I just tried to update PIWIK and received this error when updating the database:
Critical Error during the update process:
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\salksound\piwik\core\Updates\1.4-rc2.php:
Error trying to execute the query ‘UPDATE piwik_log_visit
SET location_ip = UNHEX(LPAD(HEX(CONVERT(location_ip, UNSIGNED)), 8, ’0′))’.
The error was: SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1292 Truncated incorrect INTEGER value: ‘c�P�’
Any ideas of what I might do?
