Keep track of new Piwik versions and changes with the Changelog page and feed
This was a highly requested feature: provide a Changelog for Piwik. What has changed since my version of Piwik and the latest one? The Piwik changelog is now available. It has one entry per new Piwik version and lists all changes that have been made to Piwik in each version.
How do I know when there is a new Piwik release?
The Piwik Changelog page lists all recent Piwik versions and the list of changes. The best way to keep track of all new versions is to subscribe to the Changelog Rss Feed.
Also, check it the Piwik Live Download Counter (refreshed every minute!).
We have also just opened Piwik Forums so you may want to have a look :)

Just keep in mind. In the latest Version the general attribute default_language is missing. Just add it and you can continue.

I have added Changelog to keep track of any new versions of Piwik………this has been very helpful and do appreciate it.

Piwik is really a cool tool. But what you should keep in mind is performence. A lot of users use shared hosting. So there is mostly a 30 sec. execution time. For larger analysis this time is sufficent. Maybe this could be improved.

The 301 redirect is seen as a "permanent move" of the content, and the links to the page, to a new location and the search engine acts accordingly,so it is better to use a permanent redirect.

the changelog rss is another step to a great tool. we just moved from google analytics, I think everyone should do so.

Just 2 observations: 1. Piwik rocks, much better & much more private than google analytics. 2. The automatic update function is very comfortable, so no real need to sign up for a newsletter, as the important info is shown in the piwik backend as well.

Piwik ist definitely a tool which could be used as a substitute for Google Analytics. It shows all the important information you are looking for, e.g. average time spent, referrer and so on.

Piwik ist wirklich ein hervorragendes Werkzeug. Allerdings sollte die Performance noch etwas verbessert werden, damit die vielen shared hosting Nutzer es auch für groessere Analysen einsetzen koennen.
