    Hello,
The alpha version is already on my site: what about de upgrade process? Simply install the beta version on the alpha? What about the database?

    Piwik 0.1.2 (First Public BETA)…

Piwik is open-source, ajaxified, free visitor tracking system, formely known as phpmyvisites, which was closed down… and renamed to Piwik.
Currently Piwik provides widgets, so you can display (embed) graphs and statistic directly on your pages. …

  4. Matthieu Says:

Momo, to update Piwik just upload the new files over the new ones.

Fore more safety, you can save your config/config.ini.php before, but it shouldn’t be overwritten anyway.

im having trouble installing piwik, but there doesnt seem to be any contact form, or support forum, so i hope its fine if i post it here…. anyways, i uploaded all files to my server, pointed my browser to the directory piwik is in, and all i get is

    init(); $controller->dispatch(); }

i am running php5, so i dont think thats the problem
    any suggestions?

  6. Matthieu Says:

frank, you must have a problem with your uploaded files. Try to reupload them again?

Incredible analytics system! I just migrated from phpmyvisites to Piwik: merci beaucoup!!

Also wanted to share an installation problem: received an “Exception thrown without a stack frame in Unknown on line 0.” I eventually found comment on a php.net post that pointed to an eAccelerator 0.9.5 bug and deinstalled it. Solved the problem.

  10. frank Says:

hey Matthieu, i figured it out, thanks a lot anyways

  11. flo Says:

Hello, piwik looks fantastic. I’m trying to install it to test it out, but it detects php 5.04 instead of the php 5.16 that’s on my server (it’s not a problem that it’s a shared server,no? ) and gives me the error message, only with links to the homepage (and the demo).
    Any idea?
Or is there another way to install it?

-i write this question here because just like frank i couldn’t find a support section.

  12. Matthieu Says:

flo, it seems unlikely that piwik would detect a wrong version number. Send us an email with your server details so we can have a look.

  13. Mark Says:

I have just installed piwick and I have the same version detected wrong problem saying the version is version 4.4.8. The following is pasted from my hosts server

    MySQL
    5.0.45
    ASP
    4.0.2L
    PHP
    4.4.8
    PHP5
    5.2.5

    Thanks

piwik is looking beautiful. Is there going to be an upgrade path from phpmyvisites? I would hate to lose all the data collected so far.

  15. Kaolin Fire Says:

(reply elsewhere says this is in the works, most definitely, not to worry–in case anyone else was looking for such information)

  16. Rob Davies Says:

    Hi

I’m having a problem installing piwik. The server I am using has mysql 4.0.27 and 5.0.45. The instructions say 4.1 is needed, login wont work with 4.0.27. During setup using 5.0.45, the host is localhost:/tmp/mysql5.sock
It gave the error SQLSTATE[HY000] [2005] Unknown MySQL server host

Does anyone know how I can get this working?

    Thanks,
    Rob
